Aug. 6, 2021 - Syrah Resources has been awarded first place at the Mozambican ‘Good Practices in Safety and Health at Work’ awards in the category of ‘Large Companies of the Mining Industry Sector’.

The event was held in Maputo in Q2 2021 and hosted by the Mozambican General Labour Inspection in recognition of World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers' Memorial Day. More than 60 companies across Mozambique participated in various categories related to health and safety performance. Attendees included the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mozambique, Carlos Agostinho do Rosário, and the Minister of Labour and Social Security, as well as many other government and private sector representatives.

This award is a result of the collective effort of all personnel, including contractors, in maintaining the highest level of health, safety and hygiene standards at the Balama Graphite Operation across all work fronts, and is a strong reflection of our Company Values.
